At least the charging port board only costs about $20. I guess i just got careless since i'd taken the phone apart so many times trying to fix it. Of course in my haste to get it to my friend I damaged one of the pins on board by the charging port (where one of the screen connectors goes) when trying to put the replacement screen back in. Would've been nice if i never took it apart at all realizing it was just bricked. ![]() Had I known, I probably could've returned the replacement screen and gotten a working G2 for only $50. Of course I broke the original screen (which was probably working fine) when removing it which isn't abnormal, but I had assumed it was already broken. Ended up 9008 bricking it even harder myself trying to fix it after i realized it wasn't just the screen. Bought a replacement screen for about $45 thinking hey.<$100 for a 6 month old G2 is a pretty good deal. Previous owner never told me it had been rooted or anything.just said one day the screen stopped working. I bought the phone for ~$50 thinking it was just going to be just a quick screen replacement. I have a friend really down on her luck and I've been trying to help her out by getting her a phone so she can get a job. He did most of the driving although I did help him locate a few files.i also have 3 monitors which is annoying to handle remotely (i know from experience as i fix a lot of computers remotely myself and multiple monitors are annoying).Īnd.just to share my tale of 'woe' with this phone as it will make me feel better to any who will listen: The only thing he copied over was his own version of the Board Diag tool that actually required him to put in a password at some point (presumably to log in to the LG server). We used TeamViewer and the process was fairly quick as I already had all the necessary tools and files on my machine since I had been trying to fix it myself. This is why we all get that "dload" error when we try to use it ourselves. Didn't take long at all.įor any that want to know he used the same Board Diag tool that's posted on this thread (same as tung) and I believe he has to pay something (to LG i presume) for access to their servers to apply this fix. ![]() We had the phone unbicked after another 10-15 minutes. For any that want to know I only waited about 15-20 minutes after we made contact and i provided him with teamveiwer info for him to establish connection with me. I will certainly be providing him with a donation for his services once i finish spending money on the phone and getting it to my friend. He politely asked for donations AFTER he fixed it as I would expect, but said of course that it wasn't required. Big thanks to aftabalam8c2 for helping me unbrick! He was very courteous and never demanded money for his services.
